Woven SurfaceTuffie Dog Beds

Our Woven Surface Tuffie is made from a strong, tightly woven Nylon Fabric. The back side of the fabric has a thick PVC coating, which makes it 100% waterproof. Some, so called, waterproof dog beds are breathable, which means that they have a PU coating, letting air through. This is fine when you want to make a horse rug, so the horse can sweat inside the rug without getting all clammy. But dogs do not sweat through the skin and a 100% waterproof surface is crucial, otherwise a wet dog, lying on top of a bed will push water through a PU coated cover and eventually make it wet in through to the stuffing.

     

Many customers ask us what the difference is between the Woven Surface Tuffie bed and the Wipe Clean Tuffie bed. The difference is mainly in how quickly they dry after washing: Once you have scrubbed either of the Tuffies with hot, soapy water and rinsed them down, the Wipe Clean can be towelled dry, while the Woven Surface Tuffie needs to air dry for about an hour on a nice, sunny day. The Wipe Clean has a smoother surface, whereas you can see a clear crisscross weave in the Woven Surface Tuffie fabric.

It is fair to say that the Wipe Clean Tuffie probably ages better than the Woven Surface. We know this from the surveys we do from time to time, where we ask customers, who have had a Tuffie for minimum 2 years, a number of questions. At the end, we always see more superlatives written about the Wipe Clean.....
