Everything you need to know about Tuffies Dog Beds
Are Tuffie dog beds chew proof?
There is nothing chew proof on this planet. If there
was, we would be making dog beds out of it!!! However,
this is probably the toughest dog bed you will ever find.
We have had a tremendous feed back from our customers
many of whom have declared the Tuffie the only bed their
dog never chewed a hole in.
What is inside it?
A futon type mattress: The Tuffie-filling is a substantial
mattress made from hollow fibre material which means that
it will not end up being a thin, flat bed in a matter
of months. The fact that the inside is a separate unit
with its own cover means that when your dog has a good
dig around before he lies down, he won’t dig all the stuffing
up one end. With the water proof cover, the mattress is
always dry and therefore maintains a perfect insulation
from a cold floor.
Is it not slidy like plastic?
The quick-dry, fabric-feel Tuffie has a woven surface
with the water proof layer on the backside of the material.
This means that although the bed is 100% water proof it
has a textured surface that is nice to touch. The wipe-dry
model is made from a more smooth material which some customers
will say is plastic-like. This Tuffie is ideal if you
need to wipe the bed daily because the dog is incontinent
or for other hygiene reasons.
Does the dog not sweat on it?
Dogs do not sweat through the skin like us. They pant
and get sweaty paws. Dogs just find the Tuffie to be a
proper, no-nonsense bed that is never soggy, clammy or
smelly.
Are there any zips or Velcro?
The Tuffie is ONE unit. In our attempt to make a dog
bed less tempting for chewing dogs, the zip was the first
thing to eliminate. When you want to hose it down, you
just do so with the stuffing still in.
Will the Tuffie go lumpy inside?
No. The inside is a futon-type mattress totally protected
by the outer, waterproof cover. As it never gets wet or
machine washed, it keeps its shape and lasts longer.
Where will you sleep tonight?
I don't care as long as I have my Tuffies!
