About Tuffies dog beds:

We manufacture a top notch product. When we look at what OTHER people say about our dog beds in forums and reviews, it is always the same praise: A Tuffie is worth every penny. Our basic product, and what we are famous for, is waterproof dog beds and we believe that we have succeeded in manufacturing the best dog beds that money can buy. In the basic dog bed product that we make are large dog beds, small dog beds and everything in between.

But our dog beds are not just strong and sturdy, they are also the last word in luxury for both owner and dog. The thick futon mattress with waterproof cover gives perfect comfort, warmth and support and for the owner it is the most easy-to-clean and hygienic of all dog beds. Further more, we offer a range of luxurious covers that gives the Tuffie a very versatile character with comfort and style as the main factors.

Our dog beds are designed and manufactured in Scotland (Aberdeenshire) with dog comfort at the forefront. The inspiration and testing all comes from real dog knowledge. Our founder, Luise Janniche, works her dogs in Scotland and uses her knowledge of dog husbandry to develop the best dog bed possible. The uniqueness of our dog beds is that we make a proper little futon mattress for the inside. Many dog bed companies are happy to buy super cheap filling, which is just blown into the cover. This looks lovely for about a week, but then the dog starts to sleep closer and closer to the floor as the loose stuffing migrates out into the corners. Soon the dog ends up sleeping on the dog bed covers, but with no insulation in the middle. Our futon mattress is made from a hollow fibre base, but everything is held in place in tubes just like a traditional futon. Cleaning your dog bed:

For the waterproof beds, a quick shake or brush down is enough most of the time. If badly soiled, simply clean well with hot, soapy water and hose or wipe clean. Conventional large dog beds (from Labrador size and up) that are not waterproof cause huge problems when it comes to washing. Owners of large dogs (even from Spaniel size) benefit from Tuffies beds as you do not have to put them in the washing machine. The stuffing:

Most other dog beds have loose filling, which steadily migrates outwards and leaves the dog on practically nothing in the middle. NOT Tuffies!! Tuffies dog beds contain a futon-type mattress, so nothing moves and the mattress does not go flat or lumpy. The even support and insulation from the floor is perfect.

Durable versus chew proof:

Our dog beds are TOUGH and durable, but no fabric is chew proof!! HOWEVER, for chewing dogs we are the only company that can supply you with a soft, warm, safe and GUARANTEED CHEWPROOF dog bed: "The Really Tough Tuffie".

Our Soft Covers

About 30% of our customers buy a wipe-clean or woven-surface waterproof Tuffie on its own. However, for extra warmth, luxury or to accommodate more thin-coated dogs we offer a range of optional covers to fit on your Tuffie. We have our Light Fleecy cover, which is thin, but quick to wash and dry. As an upgrade to the light Fleece, we have introduced our Luxury Fleece Cover, which is 2.5 times thicker and heavier than the Light Fleece. We have this fabric made especially for us and we are extremely proud of this product, which comes in many attractive designs.

Our Fluffie Tuffie Cover is really like pet bedding ('vet bed') in cover form. The three cm polyester pile gives lovely cosy support for even the most shivery little dog.     

Finally, we also offer a Wicking cover, which is for more hard, tough and wet conditions. This fabric is used on seats in off- road vehicles, so that one does not feel clammy sitting in there whilst driving. Your dog will feel dry and comfortable as well, even on the way home from a wet, muddy walk or after a day's work.
