Dog Mattress

Clean, cool comfort for the summer and beyond on a dog mattress.

Dogs are dogs and they are naturally quite happy to sleep on the grass or on the stone patio. However, they will slowly start to chill and it is all together a good idea to give them a dog mattress to sleep on outside. If nothing else, it will help preventing callus marks on their elbows that can develop when dogs sleep on hard, rough surfaces.

Choosing a dog mattress for outdoors is simple. Look for a robust bed with a waterproof cover. Tuffies make waterproof dog beds and our waterproof dog mattresses come in two models. The most robust is our Durasoft:  a 1000 Denier ballistic Nylon dog bed with a polyurethane backing making them 100% waterproof. Secondly our Wipe Clean dog bed, which has a very smooth surface. This is perfect for rejecting mud or hairs. The latter is a polyester with a tough acrylic coating. The Durasoft can be left outside in the rain without getting the stuffing wet.

Two types available at Tuffies

The Durasoft is the toughest for dogs that dig their beds or the ones that love dragging it around. You can clean it by giving it a good scrub with hot, soapy water followed by a hose down with the garden hose. It needs 20 minutes in the sunshine to totally dry out on the surface.

Our Wipe Clean dog mattress is even easier to clean as you can scrub it with hot soapy water, rinse and then towel it dry. It is then ready straight away.

Both types of waterproof dog beds from Tuffies are filled with a substantial futon mattress that gives absolute insulation from the cold ground. No lumps and these mattresses do not go flat. Just perfect dog beds.
