Raised Dog Bed

Very Cold floors
During the winter nights the floors in our houses can turn very cold, calling for a raised dog bed. Wherever in the house or the kennel your dog sleeps, you may not realise how the floor temperature changes. It can be the boot room, the lounge, the kitchen or even your bed room. Most houses turn down the temperature at night and back on early in the morning. Due to most of us sleeping all night we might not realise how the floor temperature changes where the dog sleeps. Once we get out of bed the heating is up and running and the house is warm. Your dog, however, can’t tell you that he was freezing at 2am. He is just happy to see you. Of course this is an exaggeration, but it is worth considering the night temperature.
Cold air in rooms with open windows
Many people have their dog in their bed room and the window open all night. Dogs are much more resilient with colder temperatures than we, but cold air drops down and creeps along the floor. A dog spending every winters night in that cold draught can pay the consequences later in life. Stiff limbs and even early onset of arthritis is often caused by too much cold living.

The Raised Dog Bed from Tuffies Explained
Tuffies Dog Beds supplies a very practical and innovative Raised Dog Bed. The principal is a bed in two parts: A rigid part and a soft part. The rigid structure is a plastic shape, which is a “double skin”. It forms the raised sides, lifting up the dog and the base where the dog sleeps. The area formed by the double skin is hence still air, which is perfect as an insulator. Hence, simply by having still air between the cold floor and the dog there is already a relief from the chill. The second part of the Raised Dog Bed is the thick fleece cover that gives extra insulation and superb comfort. This means that the dog will be warm and cosy all night. The fleece cover can be taken off in seconds and be washed at 40-60 C. The fleece dries very fast and is fantastically easy to fit back on the base.
Other Advantages with the Raised Dog Bed
The last advantage of this bed is that the dog is raised higher up in the room. This means that he feels a little closer to his beloved humans. We know how much dogs love to sit in the sofa. This is not just because they like it soft, it is also because they like to be WITH us. So the higher position of the Raised Dog Bed means that he feels a little bit like he is with you in his own doggy arm-chair….
Draught is so important
Many raised dog beds have no captured, still air under them and hence they are not warm. Many also look like trampolins. Have you ever slept on a trampolin? It is a freezing expercience. The cosy covers on a Tuffies Raised bed along with the floor insulation makes this bed ideal.
