Dog Beds for Small Breeds

We have, due to countless requests, started to move in to the area of making dog beds for  small breeds. Tuffies has a reputation of making first class waterproof dog beds for large breeds, but we are increasingly asked if we can repeat that top quality in our dog beds, but for really small dogs. So we looked around for some good fabrics. Most small dog beds are rather overly decorated, yet made in a inferior material. That’s not the way Tuffies operate and we did not want to make dog beds for small breeds out of “naff” stuff because we think those little dogs deserve the absolute top notch. On our travels, visiting suppliers in UK, we came across the most exquisite faux fur material. When you see it, you will think it is actually real mink because of the way it falls and folds. It turns out that this material is manufactured for the fashion industry, so it is super soft and brilliant quality right through. Of course we had to find out it it could wash well, because even little dogs may have an accident or simply will need their beds washed from time to time. At 40 degrees on a gentle machine wash it performs to perfection. So we bought a couple of hundred of metres and set out to make the most amazing small dog beds knowing that small dogs are really just little wolves. They like to be able to climb in to a soft space where they can be warm and snuggly. Our “Mini Wolf Den” consists of a kind of tube with fleece on the outside and the faux fur on the inside. As a daytime bed, your little mini wolf can sit in the middle and enjoy looking out, being part of the world and the family.

At night time you can roll the sides up and allow them to cover him up completely. This will definitely appeal to the mini wolf.

We brought this new product to our stand at Crufts this year, 2017, and it was a storm!

It was actually hilarious because we had placed them on a table on the corner just where the public were walking past and automatically people reached out to touch this appealing fur and almost everyone stopped as if their hands had got stuck in the fur. It is SO soft and delicious to touch and whenever you looked over at that table, there would be people standing there enjoying having their hands embedded in to the fur.

Needless to say, there was quite a fuss about this on Toy Dog day and everyone wanted to ask questions. We sold heaps of them and are still catching up with production.
